Thinking about the incredible Black women who have inspired with their words, who have journeyed incredible roads and courageously fought to be heard, who wrote glorious stories and created powerful characters in novels, and who poured out their experiences in prose, it was time to create a new version of our Women in Literature illustration 'Women who...wrote their own story'.

These aren't who we deem as the definitive writers. As with the first 'Women who...wrote their own story' piece, these are just our favourites, the ones who made our hearts sing. We humbly present to you our next 'Women who...wrote their own story' and hope you find it as inspiring as our first offering three years ago and we hope people young and old will be inspired to discover new voices, new stories and new literary heroes.

Thank you to UK artist Kirsty Maclennan for reimagining her well loved piece and recreating her work to bring forth, even louder, the voices of our favourite black women in literature.

Our Literary Greeting Cards are printed on a beautiful sustainably sourced stock. They're satin coated on the outside and the inside is left uncoated and blank for you to personalise and write a message.
